With President Donald Trump headed to Kenosha later Monday, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden once again ripped into the president over the administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement, Biden said the president “knew the dangers of this virus” but “instead of telling the American people the truth, he lied to us, froze, and tried to wish it away.”
“And now, more than eight months into the pandemic, the President still has no plan to get the virus under control,” Biden said.
“When I’m in the Oval Office, I will stand with Wisconsin, and I will listen to the experts, trust the science, execute on my plan to get the virus under control, get our schools and small businesses safely back open, and speak the truth to the American people,” Biden said.
Biden’s statement mirrored comments he made Friday night in an appearance at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport.
“Donald Trump waved the white flag, surrendered to the virus,” Biden told a small gathering in an airport hangar. “Unlike Donald Trump, we’re not going to surrender to this virus.”
