MADISON – Gov. Tony Evers temporarily loosened transportation regulations this week to ease the distribution of petroleum and propane during a period of winter storms and bitter cold.
The Democratic governor issued an executive order Thursday that exempts trucking and shipping companies from regulations that ordinarily limit how many hours their employees can work consecutively.
“Guaranteeing that we get petroleum and propane products to these folks right now will continue to help our neighbors remain safe as we enter the next few months of winter,” Evers said in a statement.
His order will remain in effect for up to 30 days.
